BROOKER COTTAGES

Brooker Cottages is a historic preservation and rehabilitation project located in the historic MacFarlane Homestead District within Coconut Grove. The vernacular shotgun cottages were originally built in 1934 and are symbolic of the first settlements of Bahamian immigrants in the area. With approximately 2,600 square feet of original wooden structures, the four 650-square-foot cottages will undergo modernization of electrical, plumbing and mechanical systems, all while staying respectful to the original intent of the shotgun homes.
