Torre Companies is proud to announce that two of our projects — Vizi Residence and Biltmore Row — were honored at the 13th Annual Addison Mizner Awards, hosted by the Institute of Classical Architecture & Art (ICAA) Florida Chapter. The 2024 awards celebrate outstanding achievements in classical and traditional architecture, landscape architecture, and craftsmanship, recognizing work that embodies timeless design and enduring quality.
The Vizi Residence, designed by De La Guardia Victoria Architects & Urbanists, Inc. with landscape design by H.L. Martin, Landscape Architect, P.A., received the award for Excellence in Landscape Architecture. Located along the historic South Miami Avenue, the Vizi Residence brings a sense of British Colonial architecture into an urban Miami setting. Featuring multiple garden rooms, open-air verandas, Corallina stone finishes, and thoughtfully integrated natural elements, the residence blends traditional design with contemporary living. The careful relocation and placement of mature oak trees deepened the home’s connection to its surroundings, exemplifying the award’s celebration of a seamless relationship between architecture and landscape.
Biltmore Row, also designed by De La Guardia Victoria Architects & Urbanists, Inc., was recognized in the Residential – Multi-Family category. Situated in the heart of Coral Gables, Biltmore Row consists of ten three-story, fee-simple townhomes inspired by the Governor’s Palace in Cartagena, Colombia. The project’s distinctive façade, featuring graceful archways beneath a lush tree canopy, is complemented by private balconies, spacious loggias, and four-car garages. Merging Spanish classical architecture with modern functionality, Biltmore Row offers timeless design while meeting the needs of contemporary living — exemplifying excellence in multi-family residential design.
